Rental Policies

Renters will be asked to sign a waiver, limiting our liability and describing the renter's responsibilities and conditions of use.
We do not supply PFDs for children - parents are asked to supply properly-sized PFDs for children under 12.
We do not allow our boats to be used off the Rideau system, due to extensive damage from whitewater use.
We do not require a deposit to book, and we do not charge cancellation fees. We do ask, however, that if you have previously booked and are canceling, to give us as much notice as you can.
You are responsible for damage and loss of equipment, and you will be required to reimburse us at retail. We do anticipate that renters will scratch the boats and put some wear on the equipment. Anything beyond normal wear will get our attention!

Wear your PFD!
Our boats are safe when used properly, but will tip if you're careless. We advise you not to go out in high wind, use your intuition and be cautious, and paddle with a buddy. We advise you not to rent our boats if you are not a competent swimmer.
Lock your cell phone and valuables in your car, and use a water-tight camera case. We do supply dry-bags on request. Bring your own PFD and/or paddle if you feel more comfortable with them. Bring sunscreen, a hat, water and snacks. Whatever you forget is sold in Merrickville.
Don't be afraid to cancel and reschedule if the weather is not suitable - we want happy outcomes, and cancellations are always part of this business.
